‘Bake-Kujira: The Phantom Whale’ by Candie Bolton and Toy Art Gallery Coming in 2016!

Candie Bolton’s latest sofubi design is a brilliant take of a mythical Japanese ghost, named “Bake-Kujira The Phantom Wale.” According to the legend, a Bake-kujira is primarily a skeletal ghost of a whale that has been hunted and killed by humans. Some stories have also said that the unrested spirit was accompanied by unusual hosts of fish and birds. The sight of a Bake-kujira in the sea brings a curse to the person that spotted the spirit in the form of famine, plague, fires, and other kinds of harm.

In this design, Candie has made the folklore the star by featuring what seems to be the ghost of a narwhale, while including other physical elements of the mythology in between. Bake-Kujira was sculpted by macsorro and will be produced into a sofubi by Toy Art Gallery. The sofubi will be 11 inches tall and will be released sometime in the early half 2016.

Provided in the post are images of the prototype, as well as the display shown in DCON 2015. The Rave Corner will provide more updates as soon as they are available!

One-off Custom Biter Fish Sofubi by Candie Bolton Coming this Sunday!

Paul Kaiju's renowned Biter Fish sofubi, which has generated a lot of positive buzz at this year’s DCON 2015, will be available once again in another variant, but for a limited time only. The most recent version will be provided by talented artist Candie Bolton, who has personally painted this figure herself.

Here is some additional information courtesy of Candie Bolton:

“My one-off custom Biter Fish sofubi from Paul Kaiju will be available at this Sunday at 6:00pm PST. Soft vinyl painted with Monster Kolor and gouache with a sparkly and glossy clear coat.”

'CHEEZY MOON' coming to RAMPAGE webshop

RAMPAGE TOYS is bringing back The Disarticulators' famous Oozeball sofubi for another great variation. This time Oozeball will be predominantly yellow and referred as "CHEEZY MOON." Collectors, who haven't owned this collectible item, may want to obtain this figure as RAMPAGE TOYS stated that Oozeball will be retired after this release.

RAMPAGE TOYS wrote the following post in Instagram:

"jmrampageComing soon to the RAMPAGE webshop - 'CHEEZY MOON' squeeky squishy Oozeballs! This will be an open pre-order for this FINAL squeeky blank version of the @trutek Oozeball. We will be doing paint on some yellow ones in the future, and on non-squishy figures as well, but this is basically the final hurrah for this figure that has become a proven neo-classic since its release last year. From here on, @trutek will be moving in the direction of his @goryhole series.

‘Okurimono Maiko’ by 2Petalrose coming to Gift Wrapped 2015

Another wonderful edition of Maiko (II) by 2Petalrose will be coming to the “Gift Wrapped 2015” show at the Clutter Gallery in Beacon, New York. The event will begin on December 12, 2015 and end on January 1, 2016. Okurimono Maiko will be available for purchase at the opening reception.

Funko Pop! Animation Tokyo Ghoul Ken Kaneki Vinyl Figure Review

Ken Kaneki (#61) comes from a very popular manga and anime series named, “Tokyo Ghoul.” In Funko’s Pop! Animation series, he is released along with Touka Kirishima (#62). This figure, in particular, is a Hot Topic Exclusive and is said to be able to glow in the dark, according to the box.

As previously reported, RAMPAGE TOYS will indeed introduce the anticipated Revenge! Robo-Kesagake sofubi to DCON 2015. Jon's latest update revealed that the variant that will be introduced to the RAMPAGE TOYS' booth will be an all blank black sofubi version and will come in a set.

MonsterArts toys and are in dire need to display your Kaiju in mid-air poses, you are probably familiar with FlightPose’s flight stand, which serves as an alternative to Tamashii Stage Act IV. This tripod design is capable of handling these bulky figures with relative ease, but be advised that there are some potential damages that the stand could do to S.H. MonsterArts toys and other collectibles in general, if left alone for a while.

S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla 1964 The Emergence of Godzilla Version Review

Wrapping up on the mini marathon of figure reviews on Halloween is the King of Monsters, Godzilla! The latest release of S.H. MonsterArts is a reissue of a preexisting figure, namely Godzilla 1964. However, Tamashii Nations added another twist to this figure, by giving it another recolored concept titled "The Emergence of Godzilla Version."

Pandan is one out of many Daikaiju that were created for the Gotouchi Kaiju Series line by ITTSU. New Kesagake Variant in the Works!

RAMPAGE TOYS' successful Kesagake figure has gone through many color variations, so what other new idea can bring this concept to another level? How about turning Kesagake into a killer robot!

"Kesagake was hunted down and killed by a famed hunter. His parts were scattered to the far corners of the known world, only to be collected by a crazed and brilliant maniac! Replacing the missing claws and lower jaw with mechanical instruments of destruction, and reanimating the discarded carcass by means of black magic - this maniac sends forth his bestial homunculus on an errand of death, destruction and.... REVENGE!!!"

X-Plus Toho Large Monster Series Rodan 1964 Shounen-Ric Exclusive Available for Preorder!

X-Plus continues to complete the "Destroy All Monsters" figure line-up by announcing the reissue of Rodan 1964, which is scheduled to be shipped either late November or early December 2015!

Rodan will be made out of PVC (soft vinyl) plastic, but a Mothra larva figure will not be included, as Mothra is already in a set with Manda and will be shipping out later this month or early November.

The market price 13,284 JPY (tax included), which is roughly $110.49 by today's market. X-Plus will stop taking preorders on October 19, 2015 at 18:00 (Japan time).

Hasbro Provides a Teaser for 2015 NYCC Reveal!

Hasbro recently updated their Hasbro Pulse page, which included a silhouette of what seems to be future characters that will be released in the future. Some sources speculate that the image and short description provided by Hasbro may be a hint of the rumored "Titan Wars" line, which have been mentioned in fan discussions before.

Protoype Pictures of Masterpiece Shockwave Revealed!

The moment most Transformers fans have been clamoring for is finally happening! Takara has revealed a prototype of Masterpiece Shockwave, but there has been not a solid confirmation to what kind of gimmick this toy will have. One source, speculate that there could be some kind of "flash gimmick" integrated in the design.
