Kawaii-Kon 2014 Collection Haul

Kawaii-Kon has celebrated their 10th Anniversary, and this event will always be one my most memorable trips due to the amount of stuff that I bought from the Dealers Room. Although the non-toy purchases outnumbered this year's overall figure count, I feel that this year has been my best shopping spree so far. My latest collection haul includes (from left to right):

  • S.H. FiguArts Perfect Cell
  • Bandai HG 1/100 Death Scythe
  • S.H. MonsterArts MFS-3 (Kiryu/Mechagodzilla III)

I'm currently working on a draft for Kiryu's review, but won't get around to publishing my article soon, due to other figure reviews that are currently under development. However, I can promise to have Kiryu's review posted in the earliest part of May. Perfect Cell and Death Scythe will also be covered sometime in the future, so please check back for future updates.

Kawaii-Kon 2014

This year was a little more special than the previous events, as Kawaii-Kon celebrated their 10 year anniversary. They also stepped up their game, to now occupy all three floors of the convention center. Kawaii-Kon 2014 was held from April 4 - 6. The following article covers what events I have seen.

Kawaii-Kon 2013 is another success!

I'm still reeling from my trip this past weekend (I miss Honolulu), but in my opinion Kawaii-Kon 2013, although not as good as last year, was still a great event to attend! The venue expanded to more rooms and events, as well as a bigger amount of special Japanese guests. All of the major events were a success, and I especially enjoyed the live performances from Eyeshine, EMKE, and Iruma Rioka w/ Nemu.

Kawaii-Kon 2012 Recap

Hello fellow ravers! This is Aaron providing a short recap of my trip to Kawaii-Kon 2012. For those that don't know what Kawaii-Kon is, Kawaii-Kon is Hawaii's very own anime convention. This annual event invites special guests that are known in Japan and the US, with an attendance of over 6000 people this year. There are special guest panels, video game rooms, movie theaters, dealers room, and much more. This year, Kawaii-Kon 2012 took place on March 16 - 18. I admit that I did not stay during the entire event (opening - closing) for three days straight. I had other plans that weekend, but I did drop by often.

Kawaii Kon 2012

I just visited Kawaii Kon's website and I have to make an announcement for my viewers, especially my friends. Those who plan to attend Kawaii Kon 2012; next year's con will happen March 16-18, 2012. The convention WILL NOT happen in April as usual. You can buy your prepaid passes for a discounted price through this page: http://kawaiikon2012.eventbrite.com/

From my previous experience, buying a prepaid 3 day pass is cheaper than paying at the door. Deadline is Oct 31, 2011.

The convention's website is here: http://www.kawaii-kon.org/
