Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Superion Review

The next combined form that will be reviewed, is none other than Superion! Superion is the first combined mode that appeared in this line. He is comprised of five Aerialbots:  Silverbolt, Skydive, Firefly, Air Raid, and Alpha Bravo. Alpha Bravo is a new recruit of the Aerialbots, and even though Quickslinger (Slingshot) wasn’t included in the group, that toy is already being sold separately for fans of the G1 era.

Superion

Many critics have claimed that for various reasons Superion is a lot better than Menasor. Having the combined mode in hand, these statements are certainly justified. Every bit of detail on this combined mode is fantastic and the proportions of Superion’s limbs, head, and other physical components are great.

Even the ball, ratchet, and swiveling joints have incredible resistance that supports Superion’s weight, especially when executing some poses. These factors really attest to the quality of this design.

One potential peeve for others may be the fist kibble behind Superion’s knees. Galvatronus also has this issue. One way to deal with this situation is to flip the fists down. However, they can get in the way when bending the knees.

Superion comes with a black electrostatic discharge rifle. The rifle fits pretty snuggly in the port holes rigged in any one of Superion’s palms.

Superion does have enough peg holes to store all of the Aerialbots’ weapons. Most of them are found on Superion’s legs, but only one weapon can be stored on one out of two peg holes on the backpack.

Conclusion

Superion is definitely one of the best combined modes of Combiner Wars. The design is impressive, proportions do not seem off, joints are nicely snug, and articulation is fun to tinker with. Fans of Superion should consider including this set in their collection.
