Kaiyodo Revoltech Type 66 Maser Cannon Review

To be honest, I've been on the fence on this one for a while now. While I unanimously dislike any threat against Godzilla since I was a kid, this toy did look really cool. The price though was always the main reason for me to not pull the trigger, till now. I was able to purchase this toy for a great deal and am looking forward to seeing everything out of the box.

Transformers ROTF Deluxe Soundwave Review

Soundwave, believe it or not, is my favorite character from the G1 series, and of all time. Yet, I find it ironic that I have yet to own my first G1 figure of him and the reason why I haven't made my decision for so long, is because I'm seeking a toy that is spot on to Soundwave's G1 appearance. The Masterpiece Soundwave, immediately fits the bill, and I'm determined to purchase either the Takara or Toys R Us exclusive version online. In the mean time, I did come across some cool pics of the ROTF figure, so my hunt was on to get Soundwave still sealed and for a good price. I did good, so now all that is left is to review this figure!

TFsource Holiday Exclusive KM-03X Mirrorverse Cyclops Review

Mastermind Creations is one of the fastest growing third party companies to deliver outstanding transforming toys. Following the successful release of KM-03 Cyclops, TFsource made an exclusive deal with Mastermind Creations to offer a limited edition of Cyclops' mini-sub code named, "KM-03X Mirrorverse Cyclops." Cyclops is based on Shockwave, and these machines are themed around technology in the late 1800s.

Transformers Beast Hunters: Cyberverse Commander Shockwave

Transformers Beast Hunters Voyager class Shockwave left me liking this representation of a toy, even though the tank mode made me feel a bit unsatisfied. Because I like the robot mode so much, and the Commander class figures are really fun to collect, Cyberverse Shockwave seems like a good buy. However, there are some issues with this toy, that left me wondering what was Takara/Hasbro thinking during the making of this product?

Transformers Generations Legends Class Optimus Prime & Roller Review

At this moment, I am totally stricken with some kind of "Commander Class" fever. Despite being smaller than Deluxe Class figures, they certainly have a some kind of charm that appeases both kinds and adults, depending which adult collectors you ask. Today, I will review another Optimus Prime toy that, although is technically Legends Class size, is scaled closer to the Commander Class size. Going into the 30th anniversary of Transformers, Hasbro released a set of toys that boasts a substantial amount of detail and articulation in a size class that is smaller than Deluxe scaled toys. This set includes Autobot leader Optimus Prime and his smaller companion Roller.

Bandai USA Burning Godzilla (2nd Version) Review

I normally ignored all figures distributed by Bandai USA because I was not impressed with their final products in the past. This impression stuck with me as my collection of authentic Japanese figures continued to grow. In this world, there is always one exception that challenge your principle, this case being one of them. I found this figure in a local K-Mart and for some reason, this toy seemed very appealing. Well, the figure was pretty cheap, so I felt like there was little or nothing lose.

Marmit Anguirus 1968 (Pre-painted Built-Up Model Kit) Review

Anguirus was released by Marmit in 2008 as a pre-painted built vinyl figure. There was another version of this figure sold as an unpainted unassembled model kit, so a collector had the choice of having their figure already made or as a custom project. A few sources cited that the unpainted model kit version actually was released in 2006, which implies that the "already made" version might have been released two years later. The technicality is not that important because both versions are a joy to have.

Bandai Ultimate Monsters: Gigan, King Caesar, and Ebirah

Besides the common six inch scale figures and above, I enjoy collecting smaller toys as well. Years ago, while living in Oahu, I was fortunate enough to find these figures from a local hobby/anime shop. Bandai Ultimate Monsters made six different figures of monsters from Godzilla Final Wars (GFW) that were individually boxed under the same box art, meaning you have no idea what monster you will have inside. Through my numerous attempts, I was able to collect up to three different monsters.

Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Voyager Shockwave Review

Hasbro continues their Beast Hunters series with Wave 2 featuring Shockwave from Transformers:  Prime - Beast Hunters season. I was looking forward to this release because Shockwave ranks as one of my favorite characters from the Transformers franchise. Bandai Heisei Mothra Larva Review

Growing up, I was always fond of the baby version of Mothra instead of the adult form ever since I saw Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster at a young age. That movie was the earliest flick that I remember, so the larva has a certain nostalgic value to me. Naturally, Godzilla vs Mothra is one of my favorite flicks from the Heisei Era, and owning the Larval stage of Mothra was inevitable.

Transformers Fall of Cybertron line continued the series after Wave 1 (Optimus Prime, Jazz, & Shockwave) with Wave 2 (Bruticus). I was not interested in Bruticus, so I skipped over to Wave 3. S.H. MonsterArts Fire Rodan Review

Rodan has always been one of Godzilla's most dependable allies, when they're not fighting each other. Fire Rodan was introduced in Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla II. Rodan's role was in this movie the sole protector of Baby Godzilla, whose egg was in the same nest that Rodan hatched in. Godzilla confronted Rodan, and the two fought each other, which Rodan lost. Eventually, Rodan fully recovered and the radiation absorbed from Godzilla's energy evolved the pteranodon into Fire Rodan. Fire Rodan was the 5th monster released by S.H. MonsterArts (6th including web exclusive Little Godzilla).

S.H. MonsterArts Vs. Tamashii Stage Act 4

When I rate my favorite figures, articulation usually isn't on the top of my list because I mostly admire a toy's exterior design, details, and color, instead of poseability. However, since I started collecting S.H. MonsterArts figures, playing with their level of articulation became fun. Eventually, I began to practice my figure posing skills, which I still think needs a lot of work. I've always been fascinated by quite a number of photos online featuring S.H. MonsterArts toys cleverly displayed mid-air on some action stands, so I looked for anything on sale that could do the job.
