In a talk show conducted during Super Festival (2014) in Tokyo, veteran actor Akira Takarada, one of the most recognizable and reputable actors throughout the Godzilla franchise, revealed his cameo appearance was omitted from Godzilla's final cut. The news came as a huge shock among Godzilla and daikaiju fans. In response to this news, one fan has started a petition that requests director Gareth Edwards to respectfully put Akira Takarada back into the movie.
