SM Entertainment Acquires "Happy Hawaii"

Re known South Korean entertainment agency SM Entertainment acquired a travel agency specializing in Hawaii called, "Happy Hawaii" through a capital increase. This will be SM Entertainment's first attempt in the travel industry business. Their agency has been renamed, "SM Town Travel" and they aim to combine their brand with the global popularity of K-Pop and Hallyu as they come up with various travel packages. They also want to become an agency that hopefully exchange cultures through education and cultural exchange programs.

Author's comment:  As a resident of Hawaii and a frequent listener to K-Pop, I'm curious about the possibilities this business decision could open up. If SM Entertainment continues the previous company's specialty in offereing Hawaii tourism packages, hopefully they could also research a potential market to hold a SM Town Live concert here. I may be talking rubbish, but I can only hope for this to happen. This state has a huge Asian population, and the Korean residents add up to thousands. With the right business plan and proper advertisement weeks or months in advance, I believe this concert can be a success. If TFC (The Filipino Channel) can hold a successful recording of "Wow Wow Wee" in the Aloha Stadium, SM Entertainment can have a jam packed crown in Neil Blaisdel Arena.
