A Christmas Special with Biollante!

I wanted to review this figure for a while, but my plans has been delayed to this special day. Since the holiday seasons are here, and the colors of Christmas involves predominantly red and green, the time has come to finally feature one of my favorite figures that isn't Godzilla and has red and green colors: Marmit Monster Heaven Biollante! Marmit's Monster Heaven series have consistently produced fabulous figures as of late and I personally think this gem is one of them. So, let's take a quick look at what makes this monster one of my fave raves!

Takara Transformers EZ Collection Megatron (Bayformer) Figure Review

Welcome to another edition of Saibaa Nichiyoobi! This version of Megatron is the last Transformers figure that I bought from Kawaii-Kon. This post was put on hold for a while, because there were other newly released figures to review. However, since I promised to review every figure that was bought from the convention, I have to oblige.

Keiji Mutoh Special: Kokushi Muso & "NWO" Great Muta Review

In my previous review of the Great Sasuke and referee Tiger Hattori, I've hinted that there were still two figures to be reviewed. These pieces are the latest additions to my puroresu figure collection. Today's post will feature another figure version of Kokushi Muso and "NWO" Great Muta, a Keiji Mutoh theme.

Y-MSF Godzilla 1964 Review

I've had this figure on my want list for a while now, but the only thing that stopped me was the price which was around $40. As soon as I found one for a cheaper price, I had to pull the trigger. Godzilla 1964 is one of my favorite versions of the monster because  this suit was used in Mothra vs Godzilla, where Godzilla fought two Mothra hatchlings toward the end.

S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla 1995 (Burning Godzilla) Figure Review

Just when I thought I'd take a break from collecting new figures coming out of the S.H. MonsterArts line, Tamashii Nations officially announced their release of Godzilla (1995), which will match with the adult form of Destoroyah (scheduled to be released February 2013). Because I'm a fanboy of the big guy, not to mention that Godzilla's burning version is one of my favorite suits of all time, I felt obligated to buy this figure too. Let's see if Godzilla is worth the purchase.

K-Pop Journey: SBS K-Pop Super Concert America (11/10/12)

SBS K-Pop Super Concert was held in the Verizon Ampitheatre in Irvine, CA. This wonderful TV recorded event was hosted by Jung Yong-hwa (CN Blue), Tiffany (SNSD), and Kikwang (B2ST). The groups performing that night were 4Minute, SISTAR, Karmin (why?), CNBlue, B2ST, Kara, 2NE1, and SNSD. This time around, I joined my sister and cousin for this great event. We had to show up around 11AM because of the K-Pop fan meets that will take place on the field. I entered my name in two different raffles to meet the groups I'd love to meet: SNSD and SISTAR. As luck and unluck would have it: I got into 4Minute/SISTAR's fan meet, but not SNSD's. I received my results days in advance of the concert. Because Kwon Yuri is my favorite K-Pop idol, I was sulking for days before the concert. When will there ever be another chance to meet SNSD, especially Yuri in a fan meet in America again? My sister and cousin were the lucky ones that won a place in SNSD's fan meet.

K-Pop Journey: BigBang Alive Galaxy Tour 2012 (11/3/12)

BigBang's next stop in their Alive Galaxy Tour was the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The hype was so hot that BigBang ended up having two consecutive concerts instead of just one night. I'm not sure about their first concert, but the second night (original date) was sold out, and boy that concert sure was crazy! Never have I ever felt a lot of excitement along with a minor share of disappointment.

First the positive, the concert was awesome! BigBang delivered a solid performance and then some! I've been to some of the biggest K-Pop concerts on the west coast for a year now, and none have been able to spoil their fans as much as BigBang did. Of course I don't mean "spoil" in a bad way whatsoever, which I'll explain later.

K-Pop Journey: 2NE1 'New Evolution' Concert at the Nokia Theatre (8/24/12)

2NE1's concert was held in the Nokia Theatre on the night of 8/24/12. My sister and I arrived at least 30 minutes before the concert started, and to no surprise........the lines were huge!

Every single entrance to the building had to average about 100 people or so. The event was certainly sold out, with reports claiming that a total of 7,100 people in attendance. Because of these numbers, 2NE1 was later awarded a plaque by Nokia representatives for a sell out crowd, and an inclusion to the hall of fame.

I Give My Thanks To K-Pop

Thanksgiving is just mere moments away. Of course, I must immediately give my special thanks to my parents, sister, other relatives, and friends. However, in the topic of giving thanks to things other than close people I know, I'd like to praise another subject...K-Pop!

Honestly, my taste in music was very different before 2009. Throughout most of my life, I listened to Hip-Hop and RnB. Then, I started to venture into other genres because autotune was becoming popular in the States, and that trend does not suit my tastes. Eventually, I exposed myself to K-Pop long after I watched my first K-Drama. I fully embraced the change, and have not turned back since.

I honestly support girl and guy groups. However, my support for these artists vary on multiple levels. My favorite girl groups contain at least one member that is so pretty...she makes my heart flutter (crush if you will), talent, charisma, and good quality beats. On the other hand, guy groups are seen more like cool bros to me that perform songs that are fresh, and gives me the urge to bob my head and dance.

In contribution to this year's holiday. I'll write three separate journal entries about three different K-Pop concerts I attended this past Summer and Fall entitled, "K-Pop Journey."

Bandai Showa Rodan Figure Review

Today I'm writing about a classic, retro piece from the early 90's. Figures from that time are especially valuable to me because I always perceive hard vinyl pieces as something of high quality. Hard vinyl toys just somehow give me an impression of high durability compared to the soft vinyl material used today, not that I resent soft vinyl figures whatsoever. Spending most of my childhood during the 90's also explains why I highly favor Bandai's vintage pieces. Showa Rodan is one out of many fine pieces released during that time.

Puroresu Figure Review: Great Sasuke & Tiger Hattori

I originally planned to complete my review of two Transformers figures for 'Saibaa Nichiyoobi,' but was unable to because of some unforeseen circumstances. Regardless, I still want to provide something, so I'll instead review all of my puroresu figures that were recently added to my collection. The Great Sasuke and Tiger Hattori are just two out of four puroresu figures that I want to write about. Without further a do, let's move on tho the review!

S.H. MonsterArts Biollante prototype revealed

Tamashii Nation's American distributor, Bluefin Distribution, has posted a picture of Tamashii Nation's most recent display of their kaiju figure prototypes. Those prototypes happen to be Biollante and Godzilla '89 (Bio-Goji).

The image can be seen here:

The sculpt and size scaling seem great, but I do have some concerns. Biollante's neck seems a little too long, her posture needs to slouch a little more, and her body could be a little more plump. Godzilla '89 looks pretty good, considering I've only seen shots of that figure's back. I have not seen a close up of Godzilla's face yet.

Keep in mind that these two figures are only made for display and may never be mass produced, until Tamashii Nations officially announces their release. Because King Ghidorah cost around $125 and Destoroyah expected to be worth $160, Biollante will likely sell for way over $200. That's extremely close to how much some X-Plus figures cost on average.

Update June 26, 2013:  As luck would have it, S.H. MonsterArts Biollante has been scheduled for an official release in November, 2013 with a suggested retail price of $236. I am pleased to say that I was proven wrong and seeing the promotional images of Biollante entices me to shell out the money for this figure. I haven't made a firm decision to buy the Biollante, but there is a chance that I might.

Promotional images can be seen on this link:

Saibaa Nichiyoobi: Transformers PCC Steamhammer w/Constructicons

Power Core Combiners (PCC) was a Transformers toy series that featured one transforming robot with four drones. Together they combine to form one huge machine. After reading previous reviews, the overall opinion was that Steamhammer with Constructicons is one of the best figures out there.

S.H. MonsterArts King Ghidorah Figure Review

King Ghidorah is by far the most anticipated monster that S.H. MonsterArts has released. This figure is also the most expensive so far, topping over $100. Fans, who followed this line, expected things to be this way as long as the figure satisfies their huge standards. Without any further a do, let's see what this toy has to offer.

Charapro Great Nita Figure Deluxe Set

This set has got to be one of the best batches that Charapro has released because there is an abundance of accessories included. Great Nita is an alter ego that death match legend Atsushi Onita adopted as early as 1994. Of course, his gimmick was inspired by the Great Muta.

Ultraman Gaia Antimatter Figure Review

Antimatter's first and only appearance was in Ultraman Gaia: The Monster from Negative Space. On it's way to Earth, this monster destroyed a planet far beyond our galaxy. As soon as Antimatter descended on this planet, it wasted no time in turning the entire city of Tokyo into a personal palace. For more information about Antimatter, click HERE. This figure seemed pretty cool online, so I managed to buy Antimatter for a really good price.

1st Anniversary Special: CCP Heisei Godzilla Figure Review

Today marks The Rave Corner's first year anniversary! On this special day, I'd like to review what is easily one of my favorite Godzilla figures of all time. For those who already read some or all of my top 10 Kaiju figures from last year, this version of Godzilla definitely shook up my previous ranking. I'll explain why in this review.

Bandai Takkong Figure Review

I recently noticed a pattern in my collection lately. Since the day I ordered Takara's Fuurin-Idom (Wind Chime Idiom) online, my preference took a slight turn into other figures that were once perceived as bizarre before. Takkong was one of those kaiju I never thought would make it's way in my collection at all. However, my bargain hunting side just couldn't pass up a super sweet deal for under $10 total on ebay. Here's my review.

My Top 5 K-Pop Songs for Summer '12

As the summer season ends, I can't help but reflect on some great songs that brightened my Summer. Even though I worked this whole season, these songs helped me enjoy whatever free time there was left. Which is why, I'd like to share my top 5 K-Pop songs for this year's Summer season, but in no particular order. Before I begin, I want to point out that my appreciation for K-Pop only extends to how far a song makes me feel. In most cases, I enjoy anything that makes me want to dance, snap my fingers, sing along (at least the words I know), or bob my head. I support everything related to the genre and do not align myself with any fandoms to vocally or publicly express my strong dislike for any group. Please, no fan wars here. With that out the way, here's my top 5 tracks this year:

Transformers Generations Fall of Cybertron Shockwave Figure Review

Welcome to another edition of Saibaa Nichiyoobi and today I'll review what could be one of the most popular figures in the Transformers Generations series this year! Shockwave was one out of three characters to be introduced in wave 1 of the Transformers Generations line. The other characters were Optimus Prime and Jazz. All three figures' designs were inspired by their appearances in the video game, "Fall of Cybertron."

More 'Saibaa Nichiyoobi' coming up!

A lot of figures showed up in the mail this week, which means there's more "Saibaa Nichiyoobi," articles coming soon!

As a preview to what you can expect, I provided a picture below. I received a brand new Fall of Cybertron Shockwave, Transformers PCC Steamhammer with Constructicons, and Sledge with Throttler. I haven't exactly decided on the order yet, but they all will be reviewed soon. There will be one review ready by this Sunday.

I will be idle for a while starting next week Wednesday because  of 2NE1's concert in LA. I'd like to take as many snap shots as I can, hopefully without getting into trouble for it. I still don't know why non-professional cameras aren't allowed in concerts. We fans need proof of attendance too!

Anyways, I thank everyone for stopping by the blog to view any content myself and others put out. Please come back often, and subscribe if you haven't already. I for one, will continue to improve and deliver better stuff, so please feel free to make any suggestions through the comment boxes or messages. Trust me, I read and consider every message sent.

Takara Fuurin-Idom (Wind Chime Idom) Figure Review

There are some series that I read great reviews about, but never had the chance to experience such pleasure myself. Tekkouki Mikazuki is definitely something I'd love to watch, if the show was available on DVD or by other means. To quickly describe what this show is about: A little boy (Kazeo) has a unique ability to somehow pilot a giant robot called Mikazuki. Because of his talent, Kazeo is recruited into the AIT, a team that protects the Earth from Idea-Monsters (Idoms). Idoms are monsters that were created by people's thoughts. This show combines elements of giant robots, kaiju, and sentai. The figure I'm about to review is based on a kaiju called, "Fuurin-Idom," which translates to "Wind Chime Idom."

S.H. MonsterArts Little Godzilla Figure Review

Little Godzilla was already on my must have list the moment his planned release was publicly announced. My reason is because I haven't seen a proper figure representation of this little guy since Bandai's standard release and High Grade's mini version. Both figures, in my opinion, were great overall but they lacked in a few areas like size ratio, paint job (especially skin color), and other small details. S.H. MonsterArts have a reputation for creating six-inch scale figures with superb details, and the commercial photos of Little Godzilla did show this figure to have a lot of potential.

90's Nick Game Shows

Just yesterday, I was flipping through the channels, when I stumbled upon Teen Nick's "90's Are All That." For those who don't know, the "90's Are All That," is a segment for viewers, who grew up in the 90's, like me. There is a line-up of nostalgic shows that were a hit in the 90's such as "All That (original)," "Salute Your Shorts," "Kenan and Kel," and much more.

SNSD reaches their 5th anniversary since their debut!

I like to take a moment to congratulate one of my favorite K-Pop girl groups, SNSD, for reaching their 5th anniversary today (in Korea times)!

Keep up the good work and I look forward to your future activities!

New arrivals and more entries coming soon!

After much patience, S.H. MonsterArts Little Godzilla finally arrived in the mail today. The box is a lot smaller than I thought compared to the other Kaiju's that have been released before, but I'm not complaining. I also received two other Kaiju figures that were bought from a seller on ebay: Fuurin-Idom (Wind Chime Idom) from Mikazuki and Antimatter from Ultraman Gaia.

I'm working on a review for all three of these figures and they will be out as soon as possible. As for Hustle entries, unfortunately there aren't anything new from HustleFightingOpera yet. However, I will post new links from his channel as soon as they are up.

I also realize that there haven't been much K-Pop related content posted lately. I will be going to 2NE1's solo concert in the Nokia Center later this month, and I do plan to do a quick recap of that. Hopefully camera's of any kind will be permitted. Since I'll be in LA again, another trip to Anime Jungle will be a must!

If there's anything you'd like to suggest (ex: specific figure review, anime, K-Pop, etc.), please feel free to leave a comment and I'll see what I can do.

Fave Rave: Bandai HG Godzilla '74 Figure

There was a time when I loved to collect Godzilla HG (High Grade) figures distributed by Bandai. These 3 inch figures were in plastic capsules with catalog inserts and sold through toy dispensing machines. Godzilla '74 was a part of the ninth Godzilla High Grade set.

Charapro Great Muta (Darth Maul) Figure Review

In my previous review, I shared with you everything I knew about the Great Muta (Darth Vader) version. I guess that makes him Darth Muta? The cool part about Muta was that he wore a one piece hood and mask that looked similar to Darth Vader's helmet. However, beneath that hood was Muta's mask that looked similar to Darth Maul's head. Now that the entrance is removed, we will now look at the Darth Maul version of Great Muta!

S.H. MonsterArts will release Burning Godzilla and Godzilla Jr.!

Promotional images already surfaced regarding two new figures that will be released near the end of 2012 by Tamashii Nations.

Burning Godzilla will be released at the end of November 2012. This figure will borrow some features from the previous Heisei Godzilla, but with some other enhancements including wider bigger thighs and a bulkier figure. There will be two different types of maser tanks included as an accessories. This release seems to be a web exclusive, so get them when you have the chance. The market price will be around $92. Promotional images can be found by clicking the link below:

http://tamashii.jp/special/shma/index.html#shma07

Godzilla Junior will be released at the end of December 2012. So far, there have been no photos of any accessories that could be included with this figure. Therefore, Godzilla Jr. currently seems to be on sell by himself. The retail price will be around $54 and seems to also be another web exclusive. Promotional images can be found by clicking the link below:

Transformers Commemorative Series Prowl Figure Review

I normally post Transformers reviews on Sundays in a segment called "Saibaa Nichiyoobi," but for today I'll make an exception. Transformers Commemorative Series was a special exclusive series in Toys R Us that featured reissued classic G1 toys. Prowl was released in the fourth series along with Red Alert and Skywarp. I'd like to give a special thanks to my good friend WimpLo for this figure.

SDCC Exclusive S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla (Comic-Con Explosion) Figure Review

Today I want to do a quick, yet special review of San Diego Comic-Con's exclusive S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla (Comic-Con Explosion) figure. This figure could only be purchased in SDCC, although you can buy this figure on ebay. I was lucky enough to have my friend buy this for me at SDCC price. Here is what's inside the box.

Takara Transformers EZ Collection Bumblebee Review

Bumblebee is another figure that I picked up from Kawaii-Kon. These figures were selected at random, and when I found this guy, I didn't know what to make of it. However, I do take the time to give every toy a fair chance, by thoroughly analyzing the overall presentation. Here's what I observed....

Rurouni Kenshin Movie - New Trailer!

A new trailer for the upcoming Rurouni Kenshin Movie has arrived!  New scenes are shown displaying more of the featured characters (Yahiko finally shown!).  Action scenes look intense and fluid.  Personally I am looking forward to the Kenshin vs. Jin-eh and Kenshin vs. Saito fight.  Also featuring the popular J-Rock band, One Ok Rock, with their new upcoming single "The Beginning", which was made specially for this film!  Looking forward to August 25th, and looking forward to letting you readers know if this is a success or bust!

Takara Transformers EZ Collection Megatron Review

I'm back to reviewing Transformers again, and this time I'd like to finally start with one of a few figures I bought from Kawaii-Kon. What can I say about Megatron that hasn't been said already? Megatron, love him or hate him, is one of the driving forces behind Transformers' popularity. You just can't say Optimus Prime without mentioning Megatron. As a casual fan, I prefer G1 Transformers due to nostalgia. Therefore, this miniature piece seemed like a perfect find for me. Now then, on to the review!

Lie to Me

MR. PREZ "K-DRAMA" IN REVIEW

TITLE: LIE TO ME

FEATURING KANG JI HWAN (R) AND YOON EUN HYE (L)

Just finished "Lie to Me" in 3 days!!

"Within a lie, there is something more passionate then the truth."

In this drama, you'll realize what a lie can do on BOTH ends of the spectrum. Also, I think you'll learn that, "love knows no boundaries."

OVERALL RATING: 9/10

Charapro Great Muta (Darth Vader) DX ver. Figure Review

Besides being a great character, Great Muta is also known for wearing some of the coolest entrance and ring gear in pro-wrestling history. I think what made the Great Muta unique, since his re-introduction in 2002, was his various themes that were sometimes inspired by different movie characters. In 2005 The Great Muta dawned a new theme inspired by Darth Vader and another character, which I will talk about later, from the Star Wars movie series.  Eventually, Character Product released a DX (Deluxe) figure to replicate Great Muta's entrance gear. So, let's take a closer look at Great Muta (Darth Vader) DX ver. Figure....jeez that's a mouthful.

Bandai Mothra (Larva, 2003) Male Figure Review

Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. ranks as one of my top 3 Godzilla movies from the Millennium Era. I thought the movie was fun and entertaining. To my standards, the fight scenes from the monsters definitely makes up for whatever lacked in the story line. At this point in time, releasing Godzilla figures around the same time of a movie premiere was the norm. Therefore without any further ado, I present to you, Bandai's Mothra Larva B (2003).

One Hell of an Anime Adventure

Hey everyone! BlueMenpachi here~
Over the past few weeks I've gone on quite the anime adventure.
I've finished Dantalian no Shoka, Another (twice because my sister watched it with me), Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls, Mirai Nikki (an anime which I personally do not recommend...) and I've just finished Last Exile.
By far one of THE BEST anime I have seen so far. Really and truly.

Artwork was beautiful, character development moved along quite well, comedy was appropriate, a few carefully placed surprises and some pretty awesome high flying fight scenes!

Bandai: Gigan 2005 Power-Up Figure Review

After much time and patience, I've been able to snag up this guy for a pretty good deal.  This figure seems to be one of the best things coming out of the Godzilla: Final Wars line. Depending on which era you prefer, the Millennium Gigan's overall impression may be a hit or miss. For some fans like myself, I appreciate both the Showa and Millennium version. Without any further ado, let's move on with the review.

Mr. PreZ Picks for:

WWE No Way Out 2012

1) PRE-SHOW: Brodus Clay vs. David Otunga: CLAY

2) Christian (c) vs. Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Championship: CHRISTIAN

3) Layla (c) vs. Beth Phoenix for the Divas Championship: LAYLA

4) John Cena vs. Big Show (If Cena wins, John Laurinaitis is FIRED and Big Show loses his iron clad contract. If Big Show wins, John Cena is FIRED.): BIG SHOW

5) CM Punk (c) vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Kane (Triple Threat Match) for the WWE Championship: CM PUNK

6) Sheamus (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler for the World Heavyweight Championship: SHEAMUS
